I am loving my Shimano Aerocast 11ft rod matched with a Shimano Ultegra 4500 Reel. It casts a spoon for miles and has produced some lovely fish for me this year. The Ultegra reel was not specifically designed for spinning, but I have been using it for this application as it gives me extra distance on the cast, which can be necessary when targeting game fish from the shore. Queenfish are definitely a number one light tackle target species for me. They fight cleanly, do spectacular jumps and great runs on light tackle. They feed best at first light and after the sun has set, and will go crazy for surface lures at these times.
