Cob are the best. Mid winter, 5 degrees, water so fresh you can drink it on top and bam, cob smoking paddle tails

Gave this old girl a numberplate and took a quick pic before she kicked off back into the depths of the Breede River to get back to what she came there to do. Respect, conservation and appreciation are what I feel when thinking of this amazing once in a lifetime catch

For the best shot remember these few tips1) make the fish the subject not the angler 2) focus on the fish, 3) try take the pic from the same height or below the fish 4) try get the person holding the fish to not cover it with his/her hands, 5) ask the angler to hold the fish…[Read more]

You never know what lies behind the next turn on remote unexplored stretches. We found this rock art deep in the Cedarburg after miles of hiking. Can’t help but wonder what the fishing mentality was then. Take whatever you can get or keep just what you need……

Another lovely cob that one day we hope to be recruit and the tag infomation reported. Unfortunately too many of these amazing fish are removed from systems where they come to spawn

Fish of a lifetime for me. What a privilege to hold such a beautiful creature. Older than I am, this beast returned strong to the depths of the Breede River with little more that a knock to its ego and a small yellow tag
